Well, it seems that the latest Nobel Peace Prize has gone to the ex-peanut farmer and former U.S. president from Georgia, Jimmy Carter. But did you know that the nobel prize sometimes goes to organizations rather than people? For example, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF or 'Doctors Without Borders'), a global non-profit organization made up of doctors and nurses, won the prize in 1999. Although MSF generally provides provides emergency medical relief in war and famine zones around the world, they are currently operating right here in Japan, as there is a growing number of homeless people without health care in this country.
